What to Put in Your Substitute Lesson Plans
Not sure what to include in your sub plans? Follow these tips to make being out of the classroom a success.
Decide Activities
You may prefer to continue teaching district curriculum or leave supplemental lessons. I prefer to leave activities that are as engaging as possible in order to prevent behavior challenges.
2. Create Lesson Plan
Create a lesson plan that explains how and when to do each activity.
Your sub doesn’t need a scripted lesson plan. Remember to keep it simple.
I like to use Google Slides to provide my sub with easily accessible links to books and videos, The slides also serve as a visual reminder of the daily activities.
3. Make Copies
Gather all your resources and make your copies. You can put a sticky note on each activity indicating when it will be completed.
4. Finalize Plans
Make sure your lesson plans are printed as well as a class roster to take attendance.
Wrap-Up
